Sleepless in London

Hi friends! All systems are GO!!

The flight and train rides into London Town went off without a hitch, and other than the brain scramble of losing 4 hours from the night, things are swell. So, day 1 of 2 in London has begun (and actually, by now, has pretty much ended).

We new we were in London as soon as we emerged from the Underground "Tube" Station at Oxford Circus to the sight of double decker buses, red phone boxes, hordes of people. The only thing that might have been a bit off in terms of first impressions was the tractor chugging down Regent Street (which appears to be London's answer to Fifth Avenue). I include the picture hear as evidence and for the benefit of the tractor enthusiasts among us...you know who you are...Thom...Keith...sorry, it wasn't a Kubota.

On near no sleep we did our first day justice walking pretty much aimlessly through the streets to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, to "The Mall" (before you get cheekey, the mall is not a mall - as you probably knew, and I didn't, it's the road leading to Buckingham Palace), through St. James' Park, and yes on to the aforementioned Queens Crib. Managed to see Westminster Abbey on the way to the bus stop. Some of you may remember the Abbey as the site of that ill-fated union between Chuck and Di . Whatever.

There being no time for rest, it was time to eat. Up to the second floor of one of those buses and over to "Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese"--as the sign claims "Rebuilt in 1667". Not sure what the cheeze connection is, but this is definitely the coolest, meandering, dark, old, London Pub goin'. A pint and fish n chips - yes, bass for Eno! (closely guarded secret: I grew up on fish sticks - but that's where I draw the line!). Met a nice couple from Vancouver.

20:00 local time (16:00 AST) and we're done - D-O-N, Done! Gotta get up tomorrow early and run in Hyde Park, kill the rest of a day in London, then big stuff tomorrow night! It's a surprise.

Check in tomorrow night (or next day) to find out what we've got up our sleeve.

Good night then.

S & S

Having problems getting pics up. Will be added later, hopefully.

Run in Hyde Park!! For Fuck's sake man: you're in London and you should be sleeping off a hangover and Selena should be nursing your wounds because of the fight you had outside of the pub. Run in Hyde Park. What's next, yoga in Amsterdam?!
